The TG-Series

The TG-Series is a passive optical WDM networking platform, designed for optical access applications, including non central office environments such as street cabinet and manhole applications.

The TG-Series comprises of a wide range of optical modules supporting terminal nodes and add/drop multiplexer nodes thereby supporting point to point, mesh, bus and ring based networks. These components are available in a number of building practices including rack mounted modules for central offices and street cabinets and also modules for hermetically sealed units for applications in the most difficult environments, such as underground chamber or manhole applications.

The TG-Series has been designed for simple adaptation to specific customer requirements and has a compact building practise for easy and trouble-free installation and commissioning.

The TG-Series is fully compatible and interoperable with the TM-Series and the TS-Series filters and active units thereby providing network operators with a simple upgrade path to fully active WDM solutions.

The main features and benefits of the TG-Series are as follows:

• Broad network architecture support - The TG-Series supports point-to-point, mesh, bus and ring network architectures
• High security spur networking support - Through the use of ADM filters in manhole applications it is possible to create network spurs just containing the wavelengths specific to the add/drop node which greatly increases network security
• Single Fibre and Fibre Pair support - Supporting both single fibre and fibre pair applications extends the TG-Series flexibility and increases the cost effectiveness of the solution
• Broad building practice support - The TG-Series supports a range of deployment scenarios from controlled central offices to underground chamber or manhole applications
• Simple installation and commissioning - The TG-Series is simple to install and commission leading to low training requirements and lower OPEX costs
• Highly adaptable - Transmode recognise that applications of this type often require adaptation to specific customer requirements and therefore the TG-Series has been designed to support customer adaptation
• Passive solution - no power or software/management requirements, therefore a lower cost "green" solution to access networking
• High density - 1u and 3u racks available offering very compact filter housing
