Randall L. Stephenson
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
AT&T Inc.

AT&T Chairman and CEO Randall L. Stephenson will provide the featured keynote address for NXTcomm08 on June 17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Mr. Stephenson is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of AT&T Inc. He was appointed to the position in June 2007. Before being named chairman and CEO, Mr. Stephenson served as chief operating officer and was responsible for all wireless and wireline operations. He was named chief operating officer for SBC Communications Inc. in April 2004 and continued as COO after the acquisitions of AT&T Corp. in November 2005 and BellSouth in December 2006. During his tenure as COO, the company outperformed its peers in nearly every category. Today, AT&T leads the industry in wireless, business, broadband, voice and directory and is gaining momentum in the TV market. Born in Oklahoma City, Mr. Stephenson began his career with Southwestern Bell Telephone (SBC) in 1982 in the information technology organization in Oklahoma and later held several positions with SBC. In 1996 he was named controller for SBC Communications. Mr. Stephenson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Oklahoma.




Denny F. Strigl
President and Chief Operating Officer
Verizon Communications

Verizon President and Chief Operating Officer Denny Strigl will address NXTcomm08 in a keynote slated for Wednesday, June 18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Mr. Strigl is president and chief operating officer of Verizon Communications and is responsible for the operations of Verizon's network businesses -- Verizon Wireless, Verizon Telecom and Verizon Business -- as well as Verizon Services Operations. Strigl previously served as president and chief executive officer of Verizon Wireless and executive vice president of Verizon Communications. He was also responsible for bringing together the domestic wireless operations of Bell Atlantic, Vodafone AirTouch and GTE to form Verizon Wireless. He began his career in 1968 with New York Telephone. In 1984, he became president of Ameritech Mobile Communications. He joined Bell Atlantic in 1989, rising to the position of chief operating officer of New Jersey Bell before being named president and CEO of Bell Atlantic Mobile in 1991. He subsequently was named president and CEO of the combined Bell Atlantic Mobile and NYNEX Mobile when those two companies merged in 1995. Strigl holds a degree in business administration from Canisus College in Buffalo, N.Y., and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, N.J.



Dan Hesse
President and Chief Executive Officer
Sprint Nextel Corporation

Sprint Nextel President and Chief Executive Officer Daniel Hesse will address NXTcomm08 in a keynote slated for Wednesday, June 18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Daniel Hesse was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Sprint Nextel on Dec. 18, 2007. Prior to his appointment as Sprint President and CEO, he was Chairman, President, and CEO of Embarq Corporation. From 2000 – 2004, he served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Terabeam Corp. He spent 23 years at AT&T including serving as the President and CEO of AT&T Wireless Services from 1997-2000. He received a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a master's degree in business administration from Cornell University, and a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame.



Mark Burnett
Hollywood Producer and
Creator of “Survivor” and
“The Apprentice”



Mark Burnett, the creator of a reality TV empire that includes Survivor, The Apprentice, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?, The Restaurant, The Casino, Eco-Challenge, Combat Missions, The Contender, Martha Stewart and Rockstar, and a collaborator with Steven Spielberg for the FOX Network’s On the Lot, will speak at NXTcomm08 in a keynote address slated for Thursday, June 19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Burnett began his career in unscripted drama when he created the adventure series and two-time Emmy Award-winning Eco-Challenge, which aired on cable from 1995-2002. In 2000, Burnett broke into primetime network television with the hit reality series, Survivor. Its debut season won two primetime Emmy’s, and the series continues—airing its 16th season this summer—to perennially earn multiple Emmy nominations. “The Apprentice” with Donald Trump was Burnett’s next breakout hit, premiering on NBC in Spring 2003, and it quickly became the top rated new series of the season. The Celebrity version of Apprentice is currently airing on NBC. In addition to the success of The Apprentice and Survivor, Burnett pulled in another ratings phenomenon with the hit game show Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? which is currently being produced in 48 countries.

As of November 2007, several new projects have been ordered into production for his production company, MBP, including Amne$ia, and My Dad is Better than Your Dad, both at NBC, and Jingles, at CBS, and the newly formed Mark Burnett Productions Asia, a joint venture with Genting International to both create new content for and adapt established formats in the Asian market.

In addition to his producing credits, Burnett has authored four books, received medals for serving with the Parachute Regiment in Northern Ireland and the Falklands War, served two elected terms on the Board of Directors for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in Los Angeles, and is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Currently, Burnett serves on the Board of Directors of the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric Aids Foundation and is a major contributor for Operation Smile.



Scott McNealy

Sun Microsystems Chairman and Co-Founder Scott McNealy will discuss the future of the communications industry during a keynote address at NXTcomm08 slated for Wednesday, June 18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. In his 22 years at the helm, McNealy grew Sun from a Silicon Valley start-up to a leading provider of network computing infrastructure with 37,900 employees worldwide, all while positioning the Company as the model of corporate integrity. In 1986, he took Sun public, creating one of the most notable publicly traded technology companies. McNealy has overseen the Company's deployment of world-class products. Today, Java powers over 3.5 billion devices; Sun's Solaris is one of only three remaining operating systems in the marketplace; the Niagara chip is a leading, high performance, low power, sustainable technology; and the world's most advanced multi-core system, SPARC, is taking market share. McNealy holds a BA in Economics from Harvard and an MBA from Stanford.
